Washington state-based jewelry company GLDN creates personalized and handmade pieces for everyday wear. We forged a steadfast friendship when GLDN decided to feature Filosofia in their Mother's Day campaign photoshoot. Of course, the jewelry complements our garments — notably the Sam Jumpsuit, the Jade Top and the Hailey Pants — beautifully. We shared some of the photos below so you can see for yourself.
Filosofia and GLDN both prioritize high-quality essentials with excellent craftsmanship. As female-founded companies with similar philosophies, our partnership with GLDN couldn't be more perfect for celebrating the important women in our lives.
We sat down with Linda, GLDN's Employee Experience Manager, to learn more.
Filosofia: Thanks so much for having this conversation with us. To start, maybe share a little about your role at GLDN.
Linda: I have been at GLDN for four and a half years. My role has evolved over time: when I first started, I was an assembler, putting together our delicate jewelry by hand. I have a metalsmithing background, so about a year after I started here, I worked together with our founder, Chrissy, to start our metalsmithing department. After training others in metalsmithing and hiring another experienced jeweler, I moved on to lead customer support. Most recently, I have taken on the employee experience manager role, where I get to help keep GLDN a great place to be for our employees while we continue to grow as a company. My maker background keeps me grounded and gives me hands-on knowledge of my coworkers’ wants and needs.
Filosofia: Thanks for dedicating yourself to employee wellness. That means a lot. How would you describe the aesthetic and approach at GLDN?
Linda: I would describe our aesthetic as personal, delicate and minimalist. Our pieces are very dainty and easy to wear every day. The majority of our jewelry is customizable through hand stamping, so you can be reminded of special dates, those you love or empowering affirmations.
Filosofia: What are a few ways that GLDN stands out?
Linda: GLDN stands out because we genuinely care about our customers, our work family, our local community in beautiful NW Washington state and our global community. We are constantly seeking to be better and do better. Our jewelry is accessible, personal, made from consciously sourced materials and with love and careful craft. We donate 10% of our profits from GLDN.com and receive ten hours of paid volunteer time off annually as employees. Also, it’s just a really fun place to work!
Filosofia: We love that your company is making an impact on the local and global levels. Let's talk more about what it's like to work at GLDN. Could you introduce us to the GLDN workshop?
Linda: We have a bustling studio with most of us working together in open spaces. There are lots of adorable dogs and there is always music playing. We’re free to plug in and listen to podcasts or audiobooks, or we can chat with our friends while we work with our hands. Our workshop is located in a marina, so there are lovely views and the opportunity to go on nice walks. We also have a love for plants, especially succulents, and have a sweet, fancy coffee machine named Alfred. We also celebrate every birthday with a homemade dessert made by one of our coworkers who has a love for baking sweet treats.
Filosofia: Sounds really lovely! Why did your team decide feature Filosofia in your recent Mother’s Day photoshoot?
At GLDN, one of our top priorities is to be an honest business with ethical practices. The movement of slow fashion takes a little work on all of our parts — including the consumer — and when we see brands that go the extra mile to make sustainable, quality garments, we can’t help but feel like we have found an ally. Once we saw the Filosofia pieces in person, it was true love. The aesthetic of your collections and the values behind them could not be more up our alley.
Thank you to Linda and the whole team at GLDN. You can visit their website and follow them on Instagram to keep in touch.
